Free summer camps at Camp Red Cedar for children with type 1 diabetes and children with developmental disabilities

Thanks to a grant from the AWS Foundation, Camp Red Cedar, a 57 – acre summer camp and horseback riding facility just north of Fort Wayne, has funds available to enable children with type 1 diabetes and children with developmental disabilities to attend a week of summer day camp, free of charge.

Immediate day camp openings for children with type 1 diabetes for next week, June 24 – 28.

Other openings are for children ages 6– 21 with developmental disabilities (not receiving waiver funding) to attend day camp the following weeks:

  • June 24 – 28
  • July 1 – 5
  • July 22 – 26

Camp Red Cedar is a fully accessible facility where campers of all abilities participate in swimming, boating, arts and crafts, sports and field games, horseback riding, karate and a variety of activities.
